I love hymns!!! While our church does the more contemporary praise-band thing, I still sing my favorites to my kids... What will I do when they're old enough to realize mama's bellering isn't all that cool? Anyhoo, I heard this one this morning on Pandora, and remember how much I loved it...
Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Refrain:
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry,
While on others Thou are calling,
Do not pass me by.
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry,
While on others Thou are calling,
Do not pass me by.
Let me at a throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
Thou the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee,
Whom in Heav’n but Thee.
Fanny Crosby wrote Pass Me Not (that's her in the upper right), along with like a billion other well-known hymns, despite being blind from shortly after birth. She's got a really inspiring story... Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_Crosby.
